Newport YMCA is a modern conference facility that offers a lot more than your average venue. As the Conference Centre works together with the YMCA, the result is a multi-use sports and business facility. Below are a list of facilities available to all users of the YMCA.

At the Conference Centre we have a large array of equipment that can assist you in delivering a successful meeting, exhibition or conference. From media projectors, 40inch HD televisions and DVD players to more retro products such as overhead projectors and VHS players. Also available are flip charts, whiteboards and water machines that in the majority of rooms throughout the centre.

Looking to host 50+ people? Then sometimes table and chairs do not suffice. At the Conference Centre we have loop/microphone systems in both the Bakewell Room and the Thraves Room.

Our stage consists of twelve 1.5 metre by 1.5 metre panels (total 9m x 3m) and stands two foot high. Perfect for top tables, podiums, DJ sets and speakers.

Installed in January 2011 we believe if it is not the first in Newport, then it is certainly the biggest and the best. Designed, developed and constructed by one of The UK's top climbing wall manufactures our facility measures the full height of our sports hall, has five different routes and is user friendly to all enthusiasts young and old.

We are currently in the process of training our staff up to the highest safety qualifications and once completed the climbing wall will be available to use immediately.

Details of bookings and prices are still ongoing with our management team, but - as with the rest of our services offered at Newport YMCA - will be well within your budget.

Bookings can be made from several types of customers. The facility will provide an excellent training and team-building exercise for companies large and small and guarantees a great day away from the office. Likewise, and doting parents wishing to give their child that extra special and exclusive first go on the climbing wall will also be more than welcome. In addition to the activity we can also provide our usual conference facilities and popular menu/buffet options to coincide with your visit.

It goes without saying that our lucky children from within the community of Pillgwenlly will have FREE access to the structure on Youth Club nights (Monday and Tuesday) and a separate slot in the evenings exclusively for climbing activities is a strong possibility.

Many visitors may not know that at the back of the YMCA lays a full size football pitch. Our very own football team, Newport YMCA AFC play their Welsh League football here weekly and is surrounded by a 150 people stand, dugouts, and the same goalposts that are also used at Wembley and the Millennium Stadium.

The 'cage' as the local community refer to it, is another free service offered by Newport YMCA. The court is free to use and has 7ft x 8ft goals and can easily host 16 players. Either end of the court also stands to Basketball nets in case football is not your forte.

The location of our climbing wall, the main hall is a large space used regularly for a variety of sports including Badminton, Netball, Football, Basketball, Volleyball as well as Dancing, Martial arts and fitness groups.

We have 2 full size badminton courts, perfect 5-a-side goals and nets, a selection of rackets, gym mats and balls all freely available to use. It is unsurprising therefore that the Hall is our busiest room in the building so space is limited so the sooner you enquire the better.

Usually located in the Bakewell Room for Youth Club nights are three professional Table Tennis tables, a pub-sized pool table that is free to youth club members. A table football game and air hockey table completes the list which has delivered hours and hours of fun and entertainment over the years.

Regular members of our Youth and Summer Club will also know that they are spoilt with the latest releases in game consoles. Housing a Nintento Wii and Xbox 360 children enjoy games like FIFA, Guitar Hero and the Wii Dance mat. Remember, All of this is not exclusive to the Youth Club and can all add up to perfect morale-boosting team exercises.
